North Park Village Affordable Senior Apartments Provide Independent Living in New Building

Tandem Ventures provided compliance consulting services for Skender Construction on its building of the new J. Michael Fitzgerald Apartments, a 62,000 square foot affordable senior housing facility in Chicago’s North Park Village neighborhood. The building houses 63 one-bedroom independent living units over five floors.

The building includes a precast concrete structure design, variable refrigerant HVAC systems, and a double elevator shaft. The Skender team also constructed serval common area amenities including a library, multipurpose room, computer room, and fitness center. The building was designed to match the existing surrounding buildings. Also participating on the project team were St. Louis Design Alliance, Harley Ellis Deveraux, and Eriksson Engineering Associates. The project was completed in July 2017.
