Tandem Ventures worked with Evergreen Real Estate Group to provide compliance consulting services on the development and construction of the new Northtown Library and Apartments in the West Ridge neighborhood of Chicago. The project included the construction of a 65,000 square foot library branch and 44 affordable senior apartments.

The building boasts a colorful mural by neighborhood artists in its lobby. Its residents have plenty of natural daylight, views of the neighboring park, and easy access to both the library and public transportation. Evergreen worked with Perkins + Will, the Chicago Housing Authority and Chicago Public Library on the development. The residences are LEED for Homes certified.

Completed in 2019, the building received awards for its architecture from the American Architecture Association, ALA, and Chicago Building Congress. It received the Best of Year Award for Great Good: Social Impact from Interior Design Magazine in 2020.
