Tandem Ventures has provided regulatory compliance services for James McHugh Construction Company  on the recently completed commercial portion of the Ogden Commons mixed-use development at 2652 W. Ogden Avenue in the North Lawndale neighborhood. The building includes 120,000 square feet of commercial and retail space.

The building has 50,000 square feet of commercial space spread across three floors with angular upper floors that are suspended above the courtyard at the buildings entrance, offering more space on the upper floors. Through a public-private partnership with Sinai Health System, Cinespace Chicago Film Studios, and the Chicago Housing Authority, the team was able to attract several well-needed tenants to the commercial space. Current occupants include Sinai Health, Cinespace Chicago Film Studios’ job training program and film incubator, Wintrust Bank, Ja’ Grill and Steak ‘N Shake.

The $200 million project was designed by SCB and occupies land that was formerly home to the CHA’s Ogden Courts and Lawndale public housing development. PNC Bank funded $15 million of the $22 million development. Opportunity Zone equity was also used.
