Historic Lathrop Homes Moves Into 2nd Phase of Renovations

Tandem Ventures is providing compliance and community outreach consulting services for phase 1B of the redevelopment of the Lathrop Homes, a 414-unit, 34 acre mixed-income community between Bucktown and Roscoe Village in Chicago. The unique community provides both affordable and market rate housing and plenty of green space.

Related and the project team tried to honor the legacy of the homes through maintaining much of the existing structure. The floorplans were redesigned and refinished to reflect modern living space and add contemporary conveniences. Common area amenities, like the courtyard, great lawn, dog run, coffee bar and parking lot were also upgraded.

The project team included Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates and Bowa Construction as general contractor.
